Shulgin: Western countries’ representatives at the OPCW have tried to harm Syria and Russia under different pretexts

Damascus (ST):  The United States of America is doing everything it can to strengthen the uni-polar system in the world and is trying to portray itself as a champion of peace and justice, but the reality is completely different, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague Alexander Shulgin said during a symposium held On Monday in Damascus.

The topic of the symposium, which was held at Al-Assad Library in Damascus focuses on cooperation between the Syrian and Russian missions to the OPCW and on the current situation of the organization’s work.

Shulgin pointed out that the representatives of Syria and Russia have been able, through joint work at the OPCW, to confront the attack of Western countries, whose representatives repeatedly tried to harm Syria and Russia under different approaches and pretexts.

Shulgin said that Syria and Russia have continued to defend  their sovereignty and interests through close bilateral cooperation since 2015 until now.
