Talented young people embody the ancient heritage of Homs in the (Treasures) Photography Exhibition

Visitors to the two-day “Treasures” Exhibition of painting and photography, recently held by the Junior Chamber International in Homs, enjoyed a variety of works of art that depicted the biography of the ancient heritage of Homs.

The exhibition, which was attended by 30 talented young men and women in painting and photography, was held in support of the brilliant youth capacities in this field, as Dr. Loujain Mosharraf, president of the Junior Chamber International for the current year, explained in a statement to SANA, indicating that the participating paintings highlighted a number of the most important archaeological sites in the city, which reflect an aspect of the history of the province.

Eng. Rozanna Al-Tarazi, Head of the “Believe in Syria ” campaign of the Community Impact Sector, pointed out that the exhibition comes at the end of a national campaign whose goal this year was to focus on local heritage and revive it through the “Treasures” project launched by the Junior Chamber International in Homs aiming to illuminate the tangible and intangible heritage of the city.

Director and photographer Noar Jandali explained that he participated in the exhibition through several paintings in which he focused on the traditional heritage of Homs to keep this ancient heritage immortal in the conscience and memory of the new generation, as in one of his paintings known as the Khaled Archaeological Mosque.

Saliba Al-Khoury participated with several photos, one of an ancient archaeological restaurant in the city and another of the” bottle”, which, according to him, is a box dedicated to floral water or perfumes, pointing out to the importance of the exhibition in encouraging young people and presenting their works to those interested.

Photographer Basel Nisafi pointed out that his paintings varied between four archaeological sites, the most important of which is the icon of Homs represented by the Khalid bin al-Walid Mosque and the defensive tower in Homs Castle, and the third site is the facade of the Ottoman bath near the roofed market, in addition to one of the archaeological sites.

Nisafi explained that the Syrian heritage in general and Homs as part of it is one of the manifestations of the deep-rooted Syrian civilization, therefore it is necessary to repeat this kind of events to introduce the deep human heritage that Syria has conveyed to the world.
