Putting the Al-Muhr 5 well in the Homs countryside into production with a production capacity of 150 thousand cubic meters of gas per day

Homs (ST): The Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources put the Muhr 5 well in the Muhr field of Hayyan Oil Company in the Homs countryside into production today with a production capacity of 150 thousand cubic meters of gas per day.

The Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Dr. Firas Qaddour, explained in a statement to news correspondent that putting the well into production adds more than 150,000 cubic meters of gas per day to the gas network, which contributes to the gas network’s ability to meet energy needs, within the framework of ongoing efforts to improve and develop the oil and gas sector in Syria.

Dr. Qaddour pointed out that the well was drilled to a depth of 2,487 metres, indicating that there are also four productive wells in the Al-Muhr field with a gas reserve of 2.6 billion cubic metres, and there is an opportunity to increase production from this field during the next year by drilling new productive wells based on the good results for this well.

Dr. Qaddour met with the workers on the site and the drilling crews, praising their great efforts despite the difficult circumstances, noting that the Ministry is proud of all its cadres given the importance of the national role they play in supporting production, compensating for losses, and contributing to supporting the national economy.
