Infighting among terrorists continues in the Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor, (ST) – The state of tension continued in the areas under the control of the SDF militia in Deir Ezzor countryside as a result of the ongoing infighting between the SDF militants on the one hand and the militants of the so-called Deir Ezzor Military Council, who were joined by a number of tribesmen, on the other hand.

Identical local and media sources reported that the clashes erupted in most of the cities and towns of Deir Ezzor countryside, and heavy weapons were used in some areas, leading to deaths and injuries, mutual arrests, and the implementation of field executions and the damage of several vehicles that belong to the “SDF” militia. A number of tribesmen declared their rejection of the practices of the US-backed “SDF” militia, demanding its expulsion from the region.

The infighting broke out between the two parties after the SDF militia arrested the leader of the so-called Deir Ezzor Council, Ahmed al-Khabil Abu Khawla, and announced that it had relieved him from his duties as a leader of the Deir Ezzor Military Council after he “committed crimes in coordination with hostile external parties.”
