Tunisian ambassador: The Tunisian people have supported the Syrian state since the beginning of the events

The Tunisian Ambassador in Damascus has stressed that the Tunisian people have supported the Syrian state since the beginning of the events, reiterating that Tunisia’s security is Syria’s security.

Damascus, (ST) – The Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia in Damascus, Muhammad Al-Mahdhabi yesterday visited Al-Wahda Foundation for Press and Publishing. He discussed with the Director-General of the Foundation, Amjad Issa means of developing media and cultural cooperation between the embassy and the Foundation and between Tunisian media and cultural institutions and the Al-Wahda Foundation.

Ambassador Al-Mahdhabi stressed the depth of the ties between the Tunisian and Syrian peoples. He pointed out that President Kais Saied, since assuming the presidency, has repeatedly stressed the need to enhance relations with Syria and to return these relations to their normal state after international parties tried to disrupt them.

The Tunisian ambassador stated that Tunisia’s security is Syria’s security, and the common interests of the two countries require us to exert every effort to strengthen political, economic, cultural and media relations, especially since the two brotherly peoples have the same unified national stances and the same pan-Arab ideas and trends.

In turn, Issa affirmed the Foundation’s readiness to cooperate and coordinate with the Tunisian media institutions, in a way that serves the interests of both sides, especially with regard to improving media relations and exchanging experiences.

On their part, editors-in-chief of Tishreen, Al-Thawra and Syria Times newspapers confirmed their readiness to activate media and cultural cooperation with the Tunisian embassy according to the cooperation mechanism that was agreed upon with Al-Wahda Foundation, which contributes to conveying the true image to readers and introducing the culture of the two brotherly countries and peoples.
