RAQQA, Aug.29, (ST)-The value of wheat sold by farmers to the two branches of the Syrian Foundation for Grain and Seed Multiplication in the liberated countryside of Raqqa has exceeded 50 billion Syrian pounds since the beginning of the process until now, according to Turki Sl-Hamidi, the director of the Cooperative Agricultural Bank branch in Sabkha.
The director of the Syrian Grains in Raqqa, Abdul Karim Al-Jassem, told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the quantity that has been marketed in the liberated countryside of Raqqa has reached 35.000 tons to the Syrian Grain Corporation and 374 tons to the Seed Multiplication Corporation.
Al-Jassem indicated that as a result of the approaching of the end of the season, Saturday and Wednesday of each week were set to receive wheat from farmers who were unable to deliver their crops until now.
