Syria and India discuss industrial cooperation

On August 28th, the Board of Directors of the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside met with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Indian Embassy in Damascus Vijay Pandey.

The two sides discussed mechanisms for developing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of industry, mutual marketing and promotion of goods and holding exhibitions for industrial products in the markets of the two countries.

The two sides also discussed means of benefiting from expertise to train cadres, securing job opportunities via the Internet for graduates in the software and informatics specializations, and expanding cooperation in the field of film and television industry through the specialized committee in the chamber.

Pandey described the bilateral relations between his country and Syria as friendly and very good, including in the economic and cultural fields.

He expressed his admiration over the ancient Syrian industries and the continuation of work and production despite the blockade imposed on the country.

He reviewed a number of services provided by his country’s embassy in Damascus, including training programs and empowerment of cadres and employees through short-term missions to India covering all specialties, in a way that enhances communication and the exchange of experiences.

For his part, the head of the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside, Ghazwan Al-Masry, expressed the Chamber’s desire to deepen its relations with the Indian embassy and benefit from the scientific and academic capabilities and expertise in India.

He described this meeting as an opportunity to develop relations in the fields of industrial mechanization and pharmaceutical industries, and enhance trade exchange by securing raw materials for many industries, in addition to coordinating the exchange of experiences and providing support in the field of industrial and administrative training.
