Today, about 40 local companies from several governorates participated in the activities of the “Made in Syria” festival which began in Tartous.
The Tartous Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside in cooperation with the Damascus Countryside Chamber of Commerce organized the festival in in the exhibition hall in the old town of Tartous.
The festival includes various types of stationery and school uniforms, including suits and shoes, in addition to foodstuffs, health and detergents of all kinds.
Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Mohsen Abdul Karim Ali referred to the state of cooperation reflected by the economic and commercial activities as a whole to meet the needs of the people.
For his part, the Vice-President of the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside, Talal Qalaji, stated that the main objective of the festival, in addition to providing products and commodities needed by every family, is to break the mediator link between the producer and the consumer.
The festival will continue until the second of next September and its opening was attended by the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Louay Al-Munajid, the Governor of Tartous, Firas Al-Hamid, and the Secretary of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Muhammad Hussein.
