Moscow (ST): Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin announced today that despite imposing thousands of sanctions on Russia, it has become one of the largest economies in the world.
RT quoted Volodin as saying on the Telegram website: “The sanctions backfired on their owners, while the United States lost its economic leadership, European countries suffered more.”
Volodin stressed that in order to build a proactive economy, it is necessary to support domestic producers, strengthen technological sovereignty and create new modern industrial capabilities, noting that “it is important to build an effective dialogue with representatives of the business community.”
Volodin added: “We are planning to hold large parliamentary hearings on the development of small and medium enterprises in October”.
