2nd Entrepreneurship Investment Forum (Forsa 2023) opens in Damascus

On August 23rd, the National Union of Syrian Students, in cooperation with the Syrian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Syea), opened  the 2nd  Entrepreneurship Investment Forum (Forsa 2023) at the exhibitions old city in Damascus. The winning projects  in the forum’s competition were honored in the forum.

The two -day forum includes 19 projects for 37 Entrepreneurs in various educational, industrial, commercial, agricultural, health and technological specializations. It aims at opening horizons for university students, graduates and youth to enter the business market and start production.

These projects constitute one of the small economy holders as they create an integrated entrepreneurship environment for these projects.

The first place in the competition went to Fatima Al-Ismail and Wissam Al-Ismail, who received a prize of 20 million Syrian pounds for their project (pine Tech), which aims to enable blind people.

The second place was won by Fatima Ahmed, Esraa Al-Zabadi and Ruba Basal, who received a prize of 15 million Syrian pounds for their project “Investing agricultural waste in alternative industries.”

The third place went to  four projects, each of which received a prize of 10 million Syrian pounds.

Dr. Darren Suleiman, Chairperson of the National Union of Syrian Students explained in her speech that the forum came out of the Union’s plan and its vital and developmental role in supporting student and youth work projects.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Syrian Association for Young Entrepreneurs, MoatazSukariyeh, explained in his speech that the Entrepreneurial Investment Forum “Forsa” is a path that began with competitions for entrepreneurship in several fields and developed to become a forum.

In statements to the media, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, praised the remarkable progress witnessed by the entrepreneurial project competitions in Syria and the quality of the projects submitted by students.

Director of Business Development and Public Relations at Cham Wings Airlines, Osama Al-Sata’, said: The company’s support for this forum is part of the company’s strategy that relies on permanent and continuous support for human resources, projects and dreams of young people.

Ahmed Shaheen, supervisor of the Sponsorship and Events Department at Syriatel, said: The company’s sponsorship of the forum comes from its social responsibility to support young entrepreneurs.
