Syria wins 5 silver and 3 bronze medals on first day of Asian Universities Championship for Physical Strength
On the first day of the Asian Universities Championship for Physical Strength, currently held at the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, Syria won five silver and three bronze medals.
Athlete Hasan Khalil won two silver medals in the deadlift and the general ranking within the 74 kg category, while the athlete Yousef Yousef won a silver medal in the squat lift, another silver medal in the deadlift and a bronze medal in the general ranking for the 83 kg category.
Earlier today, the Syrian national team player for physical strength Ahmad Shahat won three silver and two bronze medals.
Shahat won the silver medal in the deadlift, while the bronze medal came in the squat lift and the general ranking, within the weight of 66 kg.
The Syrian national team is represented in the championship by the players Hassan Ahmad Khalil, Ahmad Fouad Shahat, Youssef Youssef, and Fahd Al-Hajj Zain, under the supervision of coach Ahmad Abdullah.
57 male and 27 female players from 48 universities from Asia are participating in the tournament.
