Arnous meets with the ambassadors of Tunisia and Algeria

Damascus, (ST) – The Prime Minister Hussein Arnous met on Wednesday with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tunisia in Damascus Muhammad Al-Mahdhabi.

The two sides stressed the necessity of resuming all forms of economic, cultural and social cooperation between the two countries, and the activation of the joint committee to serve the interests of the brotherly peoples in Syria and Tunisia.

During the meeting, the establishment of the Syrian-Tunisian Businessmen Council was discussed through coordination between the ministries of economy in the two countries, which will reflect positively on increasing and reactivating trade exchanges.

The Prime Minister thanked Tunisia for its stances in support of Syria and for providing assistance to those affected by the earthquake.

Arnous also met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Algeria in Damascus, Kamal Bouchama. He stressed that the historical relations between the two countries constitute a starting point for strengthening economic relations and opening new horizons for cooperation in the fields of energy, the manufacture of electrical equipment, and cultural and scientific exchange.

The two sides considered that activating the joint committees between the two countries at all levels is a priority for the two countries in the context of strengthening and developing bilateral relations.

They also discussed the matter of working to activate the role of businessmen and networking between them in order to establish joint economic projects and enhance trade exchange.

The Prime Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation to Algeria for its stances in support of Syria in the face of terrorism, as well as its provision of humanitarian and relief aid to those affected by the earthquake.
