The National Fund for supporting those Affected by the Earthquake holds a press conference on the support strategy and priorities of the Fund’s work

Damascus, (ST) – The Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Eng. Hussein Makhlouf affirmed that the priority of the work of the National Fund for Supporting those Affected by the Earthquake is to provide support to the owners of houses destroyed by the earthquake, whether organized or unorganized.

During a press conference today for the board of directors of the National Fund to support those affected by the earthquake on the support strategy and the priorities of the fund’s work, Makhlouf said that with regard to the licensed houses, an amount of 160 million Syrian pounds will be granted to their owners in two batches and the person will receive full financial support before starting work.

Makhlouf indicated that the initial budget dedicated for those affected by the earthquake for categories A and B is 156 billion pounds.

He added that the announcement of freezing the sanctions on Syria was only a kind of formality as no bank can carry out commercial operations to mitigate the repercussions of the earthquake.
