Minister of Agriculture discusses with the Iranian ambassador cooperation in the field of investment and the exchange of products
On August 9th, the Minister of Agriculture and Agricultural Reform Muhammad Hassan Qattana met with the Iranian ambassador in Damascus Hussein Akbari and the accompanying delegation.
The two sides discussed cooperation relations in the agricultural field, the implementation of investment projects in Syria and the exchange of products and expertise.
The Minister reviewed the projects presented by the Ministry in accordance with the investment law, facilities and advantages it presents to serve investors.
He pointed to the possibility of establishing a laboratory to manufacture dried infantry milk near the Zahed Tartous Cows facility in order to manufacture its products and provide infant formula in the market.
He pointed to the importance of cooperation in the fields of agricultural scientific research, exchanging experiences and benefiting from applied research in both countries.
He added that preparations are underway for holding a conference for agricultural research during which a day can be allocated for Syrian and Iranian agricultural research and inviting experts to present their research works that can be applied within the current circumstances.
He touched on the issue of securing nitrogenic fertilizers, importing cows and veterinary vaccines and reclaiming areas of land in Al -Mayadeen city in Deir Al -Zour, establishing irrigation networks there, investing them and marketing their products locally.
For his part, Ambassador Akbari pointed out the need to expand bilateral cooperation in a way that serves the interests of the two countries, especially in the fields of investment, exchanging experiences, information and continuous communication between research centers.
Ambassador Akbari said that Iran has adopted a project for agriculture outside the border where it established projects in Africa, Iraq and Latin America and it works to invest in Syria.
