Damascus, (ST) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad on Wednesday met with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Lebanon Rasul Jumali and the accompanying delegation at the Ministry’s building.
Al-Mikdad stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation relations between the two friendly countries, their historical depth and their civilizational and humanitarian dimension. He appreciated Kazakhstan’s support for Syria and its people during the years of crisis and the terrorist war that it was exposed to.
Al-Mikdad also drew attention to Kazakhstan’s efforts in hosting the Astana meetings, stressing the importance of what has been achieved in the course of these meetings.
In his turn, Ambassador Jumali affirmed the pride of the people and leadership of Kazakhstan in the historical relations between the two countries. He affirmed his country’s desire to strengthen bilateral relations with Syria in various political, economic and social domains.
Jumali expressed his happiness and aspiration to reopen the Al-Farabi Cultural Center in Damascus, which proves the depth of relations between Syria and Kazakhstan.
