Specialized training course on how to deal with people with disabilities held in Damascus Countryside

Damascus countryside (ST): Motivated by gaining experience and correcting information about the mechanism of dealing with persons with disabilities, the young woman Nour Dawara is participating in the training course that is currently being held by the Syrian Youth Imprint Foundation in the city of Harasta, in the countryside of Damascus. She explained that the practical training has an impact on correcting many concepts or behaviors to deal with this group and enhance their integration into society.

Nour is one of 20 young men and women from the city of Harasta who are receiving practical training and theoretical information by specialists on how to deal with persons with disabilities within a course that the Foundation is holding in Kiwan Palace in Mazzeh and that will continue until the end of this month.

In a statement to news reporter, Hala Issa, Director of the Training Office in the Foundation, stated that the Foundation, through its centers in various regions, is working to rehabilitate and train young volunteers through free specialized courses, with the aim of enabling them to acquire skills needed by society on the one hand, and to support their volunteer work in various fields on the other hand.

The course focuses on axes, most notably psychological support for people with disabilities and distinguishing between mental and physical disabilities, as well as training on enhancing their skills and appropriate educational means for each disability.
