Dandi: Washington has provided terrorists in Syria with chemical weapons

NEW YORK, Aug.8, (ST)-“The U.S. occupation forces have provided terrorists in Al-Tanf with chemical weapons, and trained them to use these weapons for alleged incident of chemical weapons use, so they can accuse Syria of such an act later,” Syria’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Dr. al-Hakam Dandi said during a UNSC session held on Tuesday on the chemical File.

He asserted that the persistence of the UN Security Council to convene monthly meetings on the so called “Syrian chemical file”, in spite of the fact that no developments have happened, aims at creating opportunities for well-known states to repeat their accusations.

Dandi went on to say “Syria condemns any use of chemical weapons anywhere, anytime and by any party,” according to the Syria  Arab News Agency (SANA).

He indicated that Syria considers the reports issued by the fact-finding mission as further evidence of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons’ use of its mandate in a politicized manner, while conducting investigations into reported incidents on allegations of the use of chemical weapons in Syria, as this mission continues to adopt un professional intelligence methods of work, and using double standards in dealing with these investigations, and procrastinating in completing these investigations.

“All parties are responsible for correcting OPCW track and getting it away from misinformation, politicization and polarization,” he reiterated.

“Syria regrets that some states insist on ignoring the Syrian cooperation with the Technical Secretariat of the OPCW, decrying the approach of the Secretariat politicized in favor of Western states,” Dandi added.

He concluded by saying: “The terrorist organizations and their operators are the ones who have fabricated incidents of using chemical weapons, and they are still doing the same thing to find pretexts with the aim of launching military attacks on Syria and blackmailing it…..The attempts of the United States and some Western countries to use the slogans of achieving justice for the Syrians and to cry over their suffering,  and their efforts to cover up their destructive interventionist agendas and their anti-Syrian policies have become clear to everyone.”
