Courses on hand-made works to encourage women in Sweida province to establish small and micro-sized enterprises
Sweida, (ST) – Under the supervision of the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor in Sweida, the Mohabba and Wafa (Love and Loyalty) Association on Tuesday began training a number of women on embroidery with the aim of providing them with hand-made professions and establishing small and micro-sized projects.
The Director of Social Affairs and Labor in Sweida, Eng. Samer Bahsas pointed out in a statement to SANA during the opening of the course to the importance of the courses that contribute to qualifying and encouraging women to enter the labor market.
The Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Association, Feryal Al-Saleem, said in a similar statement that the training courses, held at the association’s headquarters, come within the program of caring for and empowering women, targeting more than twenty women. She indicated that the course is held free of charge based on the association’s responsibility towards women.
For her part, the trainer Ansaf Al-Nasser stated that the training focuses on a technique different from the traditional aspects of embroidery in terms of the quality of threads and fabrics and the method of work. She said that at the end of the training, distinctive products will be purchased by the association to encourage the trainees.
