Iran and BRICS held a conference to discuss prospects of partnership and cooperation

Tehran (ST) – The Iran and BRICS conference entitled “Prospects for Partnership and Cooperation” kicked off on Tuesday morning at the Center of Political Studies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran.

Officials and ambassadors from five BRICS countries, including India, China, Brazil, Russia and South Africa, in addition to ambassadors and diplomats from foreign embassies in Tehran, as well as officials and experts from Iranian government and private institutions, are participating in the one-day conference.

The conference includes several sessions, one of which is entitled “BRICS and its role in an emerging multipolar world” in which representatives of BRICS member states talk about the role and achievements of this powerful economic bloc in the international system.

In the second session entitled “Multilateral Iran”, some Iranian managers and experts will present the successful performance of their country in some multilateral structures in the fields of energy, technology and innovation.

In the third session, the participants will discuss possible areas of cooperation with regard to the current status of the BRICS, its capabilities and future plans, and the multilateral and international activities of Iran.
