A young engineer designs a mobile dialysis machine

Aleppo (ST): With the aim of alleviating the suffering and pain of kidney failure patients and saving the costs of importing some necessary medical equipment that is difficult to repair and securing spare parts for them, engineer Hadi Kabri, specializing in medical electronics engineering, designed and implemented a prototype of a locally manufactured “mobile dialysis” device.

Regarding the advantages of the device, Kabri, who is currently studying a master’s degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Aleppo, explained that the device is easy to repair and move from one place to another, vital to the patient, and is characterized by a degree of performance similar to imported dialysis devices.

Regarding the difficulties that faced his work, Kabri pointed out that the starting steps were difficult as a result of the scarcity of scientific references, especially information and instructions regarding medical devices and their technologies because they are the monopoly of manufacturers only, indicating that he was able to overcome these difficulties through scientific references for teachers at the University of Aleppo, and determining what it requires of electrical and mechanical parts, electronic equipment and software to manufacture the device.
