President Al-Assad meets with members of the delegation of the Arab National Conference

Damascus, (ST) – President Bashar Al-Assad on Wednesday met with members of the delegation of the Arab National Conference.

President Al-Assad’s dialogue with members of delegation focused on Arabism, the nationalist thinking, belonging and identity, and on the role that can be played by Arab parties in dealing with issues in the Arab region in the light of the growing challenges and the Western intellectual invasion.

The dialogue also focused on supporting Syria in the face of the unjust sanctions and blockade

President Al-Assad affirmed that it is not possible to talk about political affiliation without talking about the concept of belonging as an identity. He added that national action must be based on the intellectual and practical principle, because the state of Arab nationalism and belonging exists at the people’s level and all attempts to hit it over the past years have failed.

“What we need today is to possess the tools and ideas that form an important basis for nationalist action,” the president pointed out.

The President stressed the importance of expanding the concept of resistance, “especially resisting the thoughts that are invading us with the aim of dismantling the intellectual structure of the Arab peoples”.

Members of the delegation, for their part, stressed the need to work in the coming stage in order to activate the role of parties and people’s organizations as to benefit from the positive atmosphere in the Arab arena to support the popular contribution to the process of rebuilding Syria, and tobbreak all forms of siege imposed on the country.

They asserted that Syria remained faithful to the resistance and thanks to its steadfastness it protected the Arab identity and the Arab culture and civilization.

Members of the delegation also stressed the importance of developing the Arab nationalist speech and transforming it into a language that suits the new generation.
