The Commission of Palestinian Detainees’ Affairs warns against the deteriorating health condition of the captive Hossam Matar

The Commission for Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs warned of the deterioration of the health of the captive Hussam Matar, as a result of the policy of deliberate medical negligence pursued by the Israeli occupation authorities against the Palestinian captives.

WAFA news agency quoted the commission as saying: “Matar suffers from a disc in the back, an irregular heartbeat, and suffers from constant dizziness and severe pain in the head and eyes, noting that his health is deteriorating day after day, while the occupation authorities refuse to provide him with the necessary treatment.”

The occupation forces detained HossamMatar (48) years old in October 2007, and in June 2013 he went on an open-ended hunger strike that lasted for three continuous months, while the occupation authorities refused to release him, rather they intensified their repressive practices against him, prevented him from visiting his family, and last January, they demolished his house in the Jabal al-Mukaber town of occupied Al-Quds, which led to the displacement of his family.
