Rouhani: Weapons of mass destruction not in Iran’s defense doctrine

President Hassan Rouhani Monday said producing weapons of mass destruction is not part of Iran’s defense doctrine as it is against the country’s religious beliefs and national interest, according to IRNA.

“Iran has never been and would never be after producing weapons of mass destruction,” stressed the President in an address to a national gathering to honor exemplary researchers and scientists.

Creativity is the fruit of freedom, he said, stressing, “A safe and free society which helps its researchers is the prerequisite of creativity and progress”.
