Hizbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah has stressed that desecrating the holy Quran is an aggression on Islam and on some 2 billion Muslims around the world, urging the Islamic countries to adopt a firm stance in response to the recent acts of desecration against the Quran that took place in Sweden and Denmark.
In a statement addressing Ashura rally in Beirut on Saturday, Nasrallah said “the cultural and moral structure of the Islamic nation can’t accept any insults to its symbols, sanctities, Holy Quran and prophet under the pretext of the freedom of speech”, stressing that diplomatic and economic relations with Denmark and Sweden should be severed in retaliation of their anti-Quran provocative acts.
In a different context, Nasrallah said that after the failure of the American scheme in Syria, the United States continues to besiege the Syrian people through the unjust “Caesar Act”, affirming the Lebanese national resistance’s support for the Syrian people in the face of difficult circumstances they are facing.
Nasrallah pointed out that the Palestinian people believe today more than ever in resistance as an option to restore their usurped lands and rights and they continue to offer martyrs to achieve this goal, reiterating that the Palestinian people has the right to be supported by all the free people of the world.
He asserted that the insistence of the Israeli occupation forces and settlers to desecrate the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and their constant threat to this holy place must be met with a firm and clear stance, pointing out that the meeting of ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation must adopt a firm stance on these daily provocative Israeli acts.
