Patriarch Theophilus III: Any attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque a direct attack on Church of Holy Sepulcher

Occupied Al-Quds- (ST): The Greek Orthodox Patriarch of the Holy Land, Theophilos III, condemned the storming into Al-Aqsa Mosque by extremist settlers under the protection of the occupation forces, pointing out that any attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque is considered a direct attack on the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and a flagrant violation of the freedom of worship and the sanctity of holy places.

In a statement issued by the Patriarchate on Thursday and reported by Wafa Agency, Patriarch Theophilos III stressed the need to preserve the historical and legal situation in Al-Quds (Jerusalem) to ensure the stability of the region and respect for the holy sites, considering that the storming into Al-Aqsa Mosque is a flagrant and aggressive attack on the freedom of worship guaranteed by all international laws and coventions.
