Al-Mikdad explains to representatives of international organizations the harsh humanitarian conditions the Syrians suffer from due to Western coercive measures

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad on Thursday held a meeting with representatives of the United Nations organizations and agencies operating in Syria including the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as th international non-governmental organizations working in Syria.

Al-Mikdad reviewed the harsh humanitarian and living conditions that the Syrian citizens suffer from as a result of the coercive measures imposed by Western countries on the Syrian people in addition to the support provided by these countries to terrorists. He denounced the intentional cutoff of drinking water to our people in Al-Hasakah by the Turkish occupation forces and the separatist and terrorist groups and the catastrophic impact of such practices which amounts to a disaster for Syrian children and the health of citizens.

The minister called on the organizations operating in Syria to raise their voices and hold the parties behind these measures responsible for them.

He addressed the issue of the return of the Syrian refugees, stressing that the Syrian government is taking appropriate measures for their dignified and safe return, but the hostile parties to Syria do not want them to return freely and dignified to their homeland.

Minister Al-Mikdad also briefed representatives of the international organizations on the lack of funding for plans to achieve early recovery after the terrorist war on Syria and on the measures taken by the Syrian government to facilitate humanitarian aid access to all parts of Syria.

In turn, representatives of the international organizations indicated their awareness of the extent of the suffering experienced by the Syrian citizens, and their desire to exert more efforts to improve humanitarian work and meet the growing humanitarian needs in the country and to work as to convey a real image about the suffering experienced by the Syrian people.
