A celebration at the children’s Public Library on the Anniversary of its foundation
The public children’s Library Association held a celebration on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of its establishment as the first interactive library for children and young people in Syria.
Based on its motto (It is my right to read) and to promote the role and importance of the book in the lives of our children, the association held an open day for reading.. The participation of children and adults by reading stories in front of library visitors in their distinctive style and rich expressions enhances the child’s self-confidence and helps them discover new aspects of their personality.
Parents and companions also played an active role in the celebration through an artistic activity during which they wrote the most important library laws to be adhered to on cardboard boards and decorated them with children to confirm compliance with these laws by all visitors.
A group of children also donated their surplus books to benefit their friends from library visitors. As a reminder, the children’s library receives its visitors daily-except Friday-from ten in the morning until four in the afternoon at its headquarters located in the building of Dar al-Assad for Culture, and the center of the suburb of Basnada.
