Shipping sector could play a key role in rebuilding Syria

Shipping sector could play a key role in rebuilding Syria in general and supporting its national economy in particular especially after the political , economic and diplomatic breakthrough that the country witnesses.

“Door to Door Service” is the slogan of the “AlSerafi” International Shipping company, which is specialized in shipping and customs clearance. It was founded 5 years ago in Damascus.

“We seek to achieve full commitment, transparency and credibility in serving our customers and to fulfill shipments properly and safely. The basis of our decisions and business came from the framework of our moral values that we adopt in our business. Customers  can get our services anywhere in the world (Syria – United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, China ,… etc.). Our goal is to achieve the highest standards in shipping and customs clearance services. We always strive to provide our services within the fastest schedule and accurate dates to deliver the goods to our customers,” the company’s Director General Mohammad Riad Alsairafi told Syria Times e-newspaper.

He pointed out that the Arab  Union of Exporters and Importers is interested in supporting shipping sector and providing it with all facilities.

“We care about exports in a way that does not contradict laws, regulations, changes and economic decisions,”AlSairafi added,  indicating that agricultural products occupy the first place in Syrian exports at present and the process has not stopped even during the crisis, while the exportation of textile is now resumed.

He pointed out that several successful exhibitions for textile products were held in Iraq and Libya, and currently there are preparations to hold a very important exhibition in the Saudi city of Jeddah under the auspices of the Exporters Union and the Federations of Agriculture, Trade and Industry.

For his part, the Advisor of the company Amer Deeb said that transportation and logistical support are essential factors in the economy since it is not possible to market a commodity if there is no transportation.
