Minister of Justice, his Iranian counterpart discuss joint cooperation in the legal and judicial field
Damascus (ST): Minister of Justice, Judge Ahmed Al-Sayyed, during his meeting today with Iranian Minister of Justice Amin Hussein Rahimi and the accompanying delegation, discussed joint cooperation in the field of legal and judicial work.
During the meeting, they discussed the mechanism of forming a joint legal committee aimed at defending the common issues of the two countries before international forums and condemning the crimes committed, especially since Iran has successful experiences in condemning US arrogance internationally.
Minister Al-Sayyed stressed the depth of the strategic and historical relations between Syria and Iran, which were manifested through Iran’s support for Syria, referring to the necessity of forming a joint legal committee to defend bilateral issues, in addition to enhancing the exchange of experiences in judicial work, holding workshops and coordinating the establishment of international conferences in this regard.
Minister Al-Sayyed affirmed that the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria and Iran are a clear and explicit violation of the most basic rules of international law and human rights law, adding: “We demand the application of international law, and taking a legal deterrent measures towards the Israeli aggression against Syria, and that international law return to its normal state of application and legislation not according to the moods and whims that some in the West desire.”
For his part, Minister Rahimi praised the strong friendship between Syria and Iran, considering that his country’s support for Syria in its war against terrorism is a result of these distinguished and deep-rooted relations, stressing Iran’s support for Syria in reconstruction.
Minister Rahimi referred to the role of the Syrian and Iranian ministries of justice in confronting the American and Zionist regime of domination, especially after the failure of their terrorist war to achieve its goals against Syria. He said: “We are facing at this stage a legal war, and we must defend well and we call in international forums to condemn the crimes committed in Syria and the countries of the Axis of Resistance.”
