China: Efforts should be intensified to hold peace negotiations to resolve the Ukrainian crisis

New York, China’s Deputy Representative to the United Nations Geng Shuang stressed at a meeting of the UN Security Council that events on the ground show that military means cannot settle the Ukrainian crisis.

“We must intensify efforts to hold peace negotiations to reach a solution to the Ukrainian crisis,” Novosti quoted Shuang as saying.

He stressed that the continuation of the conflict will only lead to more suffering for civilians and unpredictable situations.

“The rational voices supporting the resumption of negotiations are getting stronger, and even developing countries from Asia, Africa and Latin America have put forward peace proposals to resolve the crisis,” Chuang said.
