Two halls for scientific research, three linguistic laboratories open at Tishreen University within UAE (Knights of Education) initiative
Two halls for Internet and scientific research, in addition to three linguistic laboratories opened on Monday at Tishreen University as part of the “Knights of Education” initiative launched by the Emirates Red Crescent Organization in Syria.
The two halls, which were opened by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Bassam Ibrahim and the head of the UAE Red Crescent delegation in Syria, Mohammed Al-Kaabi and the Governor of Lattakia, Amer Hilal, were equipped with 100 developed computers with air conditioning devices, display screens and tables, while the linguistic laboratories at the Language Institute include 25 computers per laboratory, which contributes to developing the educational and research process at Tishreen University in the first university stage, and in the post graduate studies stage, whether master’s or doctorate.
In a press statement after the opening, Minister Ibrahim indicated that the opening of the Sheikh Zayed Hall and the Abu Dhabi Hall within the central library and linguistic laboratories are part of the aid provided by the United Arab Emirates to Syria since the earthquake disaster.
Minister Ibrahim pointed out that the ministry will prepare for a project of scientific research cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Education, dealing with all educational and research aspects, exchange of scholarships and student, participating in scientific conferences, completing joint scientific research, and scientific supervision of postgraduate studies and publishing in major scientific journals.
For his part, the Rector of the University, Dr. Bassam Hassan, explained that these equipment will constitute an addition to the university’s laboratories and research halls, and will serve the educational and research process at Tishreen University, which is looking forward to continuing cooperation with the Emirati side in the field of scientific research and the development of education for the benefit of the two peoples.
In turn, the head of the UAE Red Crescent delegation in Syria said that the “Knights of Education” initiative is one of the initiatives launched by the Emirati Red Crescent in Syria, and it aims to equip these halls at the university with modern devices for the benefit of academics in the bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate stage.
For his part, the governor of Lattakia praised the role that the UAE played in Syria from the first moments of the earthquake through the “The Gallant Knight 2” initiative, which included many shipments of humanitarian and relief aid, and today it moved to the scientific side through this initiative, which included the opening of halls and laboratories with the up-to-date equipment and projection devices.
