Iraqi government spokesman Basem Al-Awadi announced that Iraq supports all procedures aimed at lifting the coercive economic measures imposed on Syria, stressing that Syria’s security is an integral part of the security of Iraq and the region.
Al-Awadi said in a statement to Sputnik today about the visit of the Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia’a al-Sudani, to Syria: Iraq considers that the security and stability of Syria is part of its security and stability and the security and stability of the region.
Al-Awadi affirmed Iraq’s position in support of all measures aimed at lifting the sanctions imposed on Syria, in a way that alleviates the human suffering and the lack of living requirements of the Syrian people.

Regarding the most prominent files of discussion raised during the Iraqi Prime Minister’s visit, Al-Awadi said: “The most important files that can be discussed or opened in the coming days between the two countries are securing the borders, preventing the infiltration of terrorists, dealing with terrorist threats and others through joint cooperation, and the sought to involve Syria in economic integration projects, including the Iraqi development line project linking East and West, and the issue of reactivating the Banias line for exporting Iraqi oil through Syria, in addition to the water file and the work to ensure everyone’s shares in accordance with international laws.
