Syria has announced its support for the decisions of Cairo Summit aimed at putting an end to the Sudanese aggravating crisis and stopping the bloodshed and destruction in Sudan.

An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates told SANA on Sunday, “The summit of Sudan’s neighboring countries was recently held in Cairo with the participation of the Arab League and the African Union, with the aim of helping put an end to the Sudanese aggravating crisis.”

The source continued: “This summit came out with ideas that emphasized the necessity of full respect for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Sudan, non-interference in its internal affairs, dealing with the existing conflict as an internal matter, and emphasizing the importance of non-interference of any external parties in the crisis.”

The source added, “The summit also stressed in its final statement the commitment of the Sudanese parties to an immediate and sustainable ceasefire to end the crisis and preserve the Sudanese state and its institutions, and the summit agreed to form committees on ending the crisis.”

“The Syrian Arab Republic, which considers Sudan a precious, dear and integral part of our people and our Arab land, supports the decisions of the Cairo summit and all the sincere efforts that were made to stop the bloodshed and destruction in Sudan. It also stresses the importance of the results of Cairo summit and their implementation, in a way that serves the interests of Sudanese people in ensuring security and stability,” the source confirmed.

The source concluded: “The transmission of serious crises from one Arab country to another as a result of external interference has become known, and it requires all our Arab states and sincere friendly countries to work as to stop these crises, and prevent their investment in the interest of those who do not want to realize benefit, security, stability, and development for our nation.”
