Nasrallah: The victory of resistance over Israeli aggression in 2006 contributed to undermining the “Greater Middle East Project”

Hezbollah Secretary -General Hassan Nasrallah affirmed that the victory of the Lebanese national resistance during the 2006 Israeli aggression failed the enemy’s plans, established a deterrent equation that still exists to the present day and contributed to undermining the “Greater Middle East project”.

In a speech on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of the July Israeli aggression, through which the Zionist entity aimed at crushing the resistance and subjugating Lebanon, Nasrallah said the victory of the resistance put the Israelis on the decline line and ended the American Middle East project and completed its defeat in Palestine, Iraq, Syria and Iran.

Nasrallah denounced the double standards of the international community, which remained silent over all the Israeli attacks, but moved quickly after the resistance set up a tent at the Lebanese Palestinian border to confront the Israeli violations. He stressed that the resistance can recover the Lebanese part of the village of Ghajar from the Israeli occupation.

Regarding the recent Israeli aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp in the occupied Palestinian territories, Nasrallah drew attention to the fact that the Israeli goal of the aggression was to restore deterrence, but they obtained a completely opposite picture, and the evidence of the failure of the aggression against Jenin is the continuation of the Palestinian resistance operations in the West Bank.

On the Lebanese situation, Nasrallah denied the allegations that Hezbollah wanted to cancel the Taif Agreement, describing these allegations as lying and misleading.

Nasrallah stressed that the resistance weapon aims at protecting Lebanon, saying: “We carried the weapon to protect the resistance, not to impose the president of the republic, and our choice is to participate and cooperate, because Lebanon can’t recover except through this way.”

On the incident of burning a copy of the Holy  Qur’an in Sweden, Nasrallah pointed out that the person who burned the Holy Qur’an has to do with the Israeli Mossad, and his goal is to spread discord between Muslims and Christians, praising Russia’s remarkable position that embarrassed the Western countries.
