Lavrov: The conflict in Ukraine will not end until the West abandons its plans to defeat Russia

Moscow (ST): Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed that the confrontation in Ukraine will not stop until the West abandons its plans to maintain its hegemony and its obsession with inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia at the hands of its tools in Kiev.

In an interview with the Indonesian newspaper “Kompas”, Lavrov said: “So far, there are no signs of a change in this position, and we see how the Americans and their followers continue to pump weapons massively into Ukraine, and push the Kiev regime to continue the war.” He referred to the West’s disregard for initiatives to stop the conflict in Ukraine, and  Kiev refusal to enter mediators aimed at settling the crisis, including Indonesian proposals to act as mediator between Russia and Ukraine.
