On July 9th, the Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Dr. Firas Kaddour, met with the Deputy Iranian Minister of Oil, Vahid Reza Zaidi Fard, and a number of representatives of Iranian companies.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the fields of oil, gas and mineral resources in a way that achieves the interests of the two countries.
They also discussed the possibility of cooperation and benefiting from the services of Iranian companies specialized in the fields of oil and gas according to the required needs in Syria.
They affirmed the common desire to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries, focus on investment opportunities available in Syria, and exchange experiences in these fields.
Dr. Kaddour pointed to the importance of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries in the field of oil in achieving fruitful results.
He pointed to the importance of cooperation in the field of training to improve the level of efficiency and productivity, and to provide workers with the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out the required tasks in a better way.
For his part, the Iranian Deputy Oil Minister hailed the bilateral relations between Syria and Iran, stressing his country’s readiness to provide support and assistance to Syria in the fields of oil, gas and mineral wealth, and to exchange experiences in these fields.
The meeting was attended by the Iranian ambassador to Damascus, Hussein Akbari, and representatives of a number of Iranian companies participating in the Fourth Syrian International Oil, Gas and Energy Exhibition.
