Palestinian Foreign Ministry: International reactions towards Israeli occupation’s crimes a kind of formality

Occupied Al-Quds (ST)- Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the international reactions towards the Israeli occupation’s crimes against the Palestinian people in general and in the city of Jenin and its refugee camp in particular did not deviate from the traditional formal formulas that reflect the international community’s insistence on adhering to double standards and not assuming its responsibilities towards the occupation and persecution of the Palestinians.

The ministry said in a statement on Tuesday, according to Wafa News Agency, that in the light of the scenes and images that the media circulate from Jenin and its camp regarding destruction, displacement, vandalism, killing, preventing medical staff from carrying out their work, and targeting journalists to prevent them from reporting the truth of what is happening, some countries that used to stand on the wrong side of history, appear to justify the occupation’s crimes under the slogan “supporting Israel’s security and its right to defend itself”.

“This matter is used by the occupation as a cover to unleash its military machine and its settler gangs, to encroach on the West Bank at a time when we do not hear such positions in support of the Palestinian right, the ministry added.

The Ministry expressed its strong condemnation of this position emanating from countries that claim to adhere to human rights. It called on these countries to review their positions in line with international law and the values that they claim.
