Speaking at al-Baath Dialogue Forum in Damascus University on Monday, al-Zou’bi further underlined that ”having failed to attain gains through the proposed Geneva 2 conference on Syria, plotters are planning to do so through terrorism and crimes.”

For his part,Minister of Awkaf (Religious Endowments) Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed made it clear that  ”Islam has nothing to do with  wahhabi takfiri thought,” indicating that ”the concept of Jihad” adopted  by takfiri groups is built on wrong rules.”

He said the colonial countries; mainly Britain, found it imperative to forge a religious-political alliance in the region to protect its interest. ”Hence, it assigned  the Saudi family as rulers and founded the Wahhabi movement to issue fataws that suit their interests.”

“it is time to cast light on takfiri thought as it jeopardizes the whole world ,”affirmed Member of the Regional Leadership of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party, Dr. Khalaf al-Miftah He.

Dr. Mohammad Tawfik al- Bouti, the Chairman of the Levant ( Bilad al-Sham) Scholars Union, said that the takfir (declaring the other an infidel) is intended to liquidate resistance and target Syria.

Under the title of ”Takfiri Thought and its Impact on National Unity,” Al-Baath Dialogue Forum was organized Monday by Damascus branch of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party.
