Syria condemns the Israeli aggression against Jenin

On July 3rd, Syria strongly condemned the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian city of Jenin and its camp in the West Bank, which amounts to a war crime and a crime against humanity, confirming its full support for the Palestinian people in their struggle against the occupation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement on Monday “the Syrian Arab Republic followed with concern the brutal Israeli aggression on our steadfast brothers in Jenin in occupied Palestine, which led to the rise of a large number of martyrs and the injury of dozens, and it expresses its condolences to the families of the martyrs, the wounded, the Palestinian government and people.”

The Ministry added: “Syria strongly condemns this new Zionist aggression, which amounts to a war crime and a crime against humanity, and confirms that the Israeli escalation policy is only an expression of the occupation’s inability to confront the brotherly Palestinian people’s adherence to its historical rights of establishing their independent state with AlQuds (Jerusalem) as its capital.”

The Ministry renewed Syria’s full support for the Palestinian people in their struggle against the occupation and for obtaining their full rights, calling on the United Nations to assume its responsibilities and take an immediate action to stop these crimes and hold their perpetrators accountable for the crimes they commit against the Palestinian people in accordance with the principles of international law.

Yesterday at midnight, the occupation began wide-scale land and air aggression against the city of Jenin and its camp. The occupation surrounded the area with more than 1,000 soldiers amid an intense flights by the Israeli warplanes.
