Damascus – Competitions of the first phase of the National Robotics Championship 2023 kicked off on Sunday with the participation of 135 teams from different provinces.
Oganized by the Syrian Science Olympiad Administration at the Distinction and Creativity Authority, the Championship
includes three competitions; the first is called the Tasks of the Robot, the second is called Creative People of Future while the third is called the Engineers of Future.
Competitions of the first phase will last for six days and teams will be divided into 3 age categories.
This championship is qualifier for the World Robot Olympiad (WRO), which will be held in Panama during November under the title of “Connecting the World”.
According to the Head of the Scientific Committee of Robotics at the Distinction and Creativity Agency Muheib Al- Nuqari, the aim of this championship is to spread and enhance the culture of Artificial Intelligence (AI), robots and programming, and to build distinguished and fruitful communication between man and machine, to achieve creativity in innovation and to provide ideas that can direct the robot to carry out multiple tasks that meet the requirements of the age.
The second stage of this championship will be held between July 27th and 29th, 2023.
