Abdullahian: Refraining from sending  Iranian ambassador to Sweden at the moment

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian announced holding off sending Iran’s new ambassador to Sweden for the time being is due to insulting the Holy Quran.

Abdullahian said on his Twitter account today: “Yesterday we spoke in detail with the new ambassador of our country in Sweden, where he presented a report on the latest developments in his mission”.He added: “Despite the end of the administrative procedures, the process of sending the ambassador to Sweden has been stopped, due to the government of this country allowing the attack on the holy Qur’an”.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian had previously condemned the Swedish government’s authorization to burn a copy of the Holy Qur’an by an extremist, stressing that allowing insults to religious sanctities and the Holy Qur’an for any justification is unacceptable.

Also on their part, the Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the Swedish officer- in- charge to protest against his country’s government allowing extremists to insult sanctities.
