China calls for adoption of dialogue as a way to resolve differences around the world

China called for adopting dialogue as a way to resolve differences and crises around the world.

“The international community should resolve disputes through dialogue and consultation and rely on multilateralism,” Chinese Vice President Han Zheng said in a speech today at the 11th World Peace Forum in Beijing.

Zheng stressed that the international community, especially the powerful superpowers, should unequivocally promote peace, negotiations and mediation according to the needs and desires of relevant countries.

The Chinese vice president underlined the urgency to use dialogue to build mutual trust, resolve differences and achieve security, pointing to the need for the international community to practice pluralism in international relations, and adhere to the principles of mutual benefit, mutual respect and independence.

The Global Peace Forum has been held annually since 2012 and is supervised by Tsinghua University, and is attended by many diplomats, scholars and experts.
