On June 1st, St. George’s Church of the Roman Catholic Romans hosted a prayer for peace, in the presence of members of the Australian Bishops’ delegation at the end of their solidarity visit to Aleppo, which lasted for two days.
During his speech in prayer, the Bishop of Australia of the Roman Catholic Church, Bishop Robert Rabat, stressed the importance of faith that calls for adhering to our roots.
He pointed to the firm faith that the people of Aleppo challenged the difficulties and remained steadily in their city and with renewed faith.
In turn, Father Gabriel Azar, from the Archdiocese of the Greek Orthodox, said that the unified prayer of the bishops of Aleppo and Australia is a message and a call to peace and to raise the injustice of unilateral sanctions on Syria.
