Australian archbishops, visiting Aleppo, tour archeological worshipping places, old markets

On the second day of their solidarity visit to Aleppo, the Australian archbishops delegation toured a number of archeological worshipping places as well as the old matkets in ancient Aleppo, where its members were briefed on the damage caused to these places as a result of terrorism and the earthquake.

Boutros Marayati, Archbishop of Aleppo and its dependencies for the Armenian Catholic said in a statement to a SANA reporter that effective coordination between the churches of Syria and the world is necessary in order to help the people who are suffeting from the siege imposed on Syria which negativly effected all aspects of life.

Members of the delegation met with the Governor of Aleppo Hussein Diab and stressed that the bishops stand by all the components of the Syrian people to help them withstand the circumstances and rebuild the land that brought to the world the most important national and humanitarian symbols.

Member of the delegation, representative of the Coptic Orthodox Church, Bishop Anba Daniel, stressed the importance of standing by Syria, the cradle of civilizations.

The Bishop of Australia and New Zealand for Armenian Orthodox Haikazon Nagarian, asserted the importance of unifying the ranks at international forums and called for lifting the unjust siege imposed on Syria and for respecting the Syrian people’s desire to cling to their roots, to work and to produce in their fertile land.
