Tehran (ST): Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian condemned the Swedish government’s authorization to burn a copy of the Holy Qur’an at the hands of an extremist, stressing that allowing insults and justifications to religious sanctities and the Holy Qur’an is unacceptable.
Abdullahian said on his Twitter account today: “Describing such practices as freedom of expression and democracy only encourages terrorism and extremism, and its repercussions will affect the West before any other party.”
In the same context, the Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the Swedish Chargé d’Affaires to protest against the Swedish government’s permission for extremists to insult the sanctities.
