Damascus, (ST) – Minister of Awqaf (Islamis Trusts), Dr. Muhammad Abd al-Sattar al-Sayyid affirmed that the meeting of the Islamic nation today at Mount Arafat confirms the great human principles established by Islam in terms of human rights, equality, freedom, justice and women’s rights.
He indicated that the pilgrimage unites Muslims, unites their word and unites their ranks, pointing out that strength if muslims lies in their unity.
Minister Al-Sayyid said in a speech that there is no doubt that the hearts of Muslims in the east and west of the earth meet at these times with their brothers, the pilgrims, around the Sacred House of God (Al-Kabeha). “They meet believing that their nation is resistant to its enemies, and believing in liberating the holy land in Palestine”, he added.
Minister Al-Sayed indicated that the sacrifice has a noble social purpose, as it extends to family, relatives, the poor, the needy, orphans and widows and brings happiness to them, which achieves solidarity and compassion that our true religion urged us to do.
He called for making the sacrifice a manifestation of Islam and a title for its civilization and advancement, as there is a big difference between upholding values in society and the tradition of descending values coming from the West.
Concluding his speech, the minister congratulated President Bashar Al-Assad on Eid Al-Adha.
