Bratislava, (ST) – The Head of the Slovak Republic Party, a member of the European Parliament Milan Ohrek affirmed that the Western sanctions imposed on Russia were copied by the European Union from the United States, despite their great harm to the economy of its countries.
“The sanctions have failed to implement their objectives because the Russian economy, despite these restrictions, is achieving growth in the major sectors, unlike the economies of European countries, which are now stagnant or regressing,” Ohrek said in an interview with (a-portal) website.
Ohrek stressed that these sanctions against Russia contradict Slovakia’s interests, and therefore work must be done to lift them. He pointed out that the United States decided to impose sanctions, while the leadership of the European Union copied and implemented them.
