“Secret of Existence” The sixth solo Exhibition for artist Lina Rizk

 The “Secret of Existence” is the title of the sixth solo exhibition for prominent artist Lina Rizk, which is currently being held in Al-Sayed Gallery in Damascus until the end of this month .

The exhibition displayed 30 oil paintings on canvas and wood in various sizes that varied between medium and large depicting artistic style that simulates expressionism and surrealism at the same time.

Lina told Syria Times that the title of the exhibition means “ all art in general, is the secret of existence and art gives aesthetics meaning to our life”.

“Woman in my paintings lives in her dreams, aspirations, and memories, she creates a romantic atmosphere , she indicates the hope for directness, symbolism, and humanization” Lina Rizk said.

 “In my exhibition, I wanted the visitor  to enter new worlds of dreams and fantasies that are more beautiful than reality.We need to live in worlds that give beauty to our souls, and keep us away from sadness that we are trying to  rid ourselves  of” She added.

 The Preparation for the “Secret of Existence” exhibition took four years, following Rizk’s previous exhibition in 2018. Lina used four oil colors blue, yellow, red and black in her drawing; she mixed them with each other to give new gradations.

Her paintings are related to several artistic schools “I combine expressionism, romanticism, and pointillism even with a part of surrealism”. The paintings are diverse, each painting has its own topic, but the technique and the style of work acts  as a complete unit.

Artist Lina Rizk founded the Candles of Peace Association, which tries to help and support  plastic artists.She also held six solo exhibitions beside her participation in several collective exhibitions.
