Ambassador Ala presents his credentials as permanent representative of Syria to the Arab League

On June 25thAmbassador Hossam El-Din Ala presented his credentials as permanent representative of Syria to the League of Arab States to the Secretary-General of the League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, at the League’s headquarters in Cairo.

In a statement after the meeting, Ambassador Ala stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination between Syria and the Arab countries in fighting  the challenges facing the Arab nation and its countries, and the importance of the coordinating role of the League of Arab States in this field

He pointed out that the resumption of Syria’s participation in the League’s meetings will contribute to strengthening this cooperation, in a way that serves higher Arab issues and the interests of member states. 

Ambassador Ala said that the repeated Zionist attacks in the occupied Palestinian territories, and in the occupied Syrian Arab Golan, and the continuous violations of the Israeli occupation against its people constitute one of the most prominent issues that require strengthening joint Arab cooperation and coordination. 

Mr. President Bashar Al-Assad issued Decree No. 126 of 2023, which provides for naming Ambassador Hossam El-Din Ala as permanent representative of the Syrian Arab Republic to the League of Arab States.
