Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua stand in solidarity with Russia

Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua declared solidarity with Russia in the face of the rebellion carried out yesterday by the private military company Wagner and its founder Yevgeny Prigozhin.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz Canel expressed his solidarity with Russia, the Russian people and President Vladimir Putin in the face of this armed rebellion, asserting his firm conviction that unity and constitutional order will prevail.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro also announced his full support for Russia and its President Vladimir Putin, who defeated the armed rebellion and thwarted attempts to provoke civil war.

Commemorating the 202nd of the Battle of Carabobo and the victory over the Spanish army, President Maduro said: “I would like to convey from the battlefield of Carabobo, the cradle of freedom in South America, our solidarity and support for the Russian president, who thwarted treason and prevented a civil war”.

On his part,Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega expressed similar solidarity with Russia and its leadership, stressing confidence in the defeat of the state of armed rebellion.

Also last night, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko held talks with Prigozhin, which concluded that Wagner agreed to end the rebellion, stop the escalation, and leave the latter to Belarus.
